FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common waxing questions at Prime Wax Studio in Atlanta, GA. Learn how to prepare, what to expect, and how to care for your skin.
What should I avoid before my waxing appointment?
Skip hot baths, saunas, and swimming right before your visit, because they can make your skin more sensitive. Also avoid sunbathing and tanning beds for at least 24 hours before waxing.
Should I shave before waxing?
No. Please do not shave between waxing visits. Shaving cuts the hair short, and wax needs a little length to grab on to. Let the hair grow to about ¼ inch.
Do I need to wash or prepare my skin on the day?
Come with clean, dry skin. Don’t put on lotion, oil, or heavy creams before your visit. Wear loose, comfortable clothing so nothing rubs your skin afterward.
How long does a waxing appointment take?
It depends on the service. Small areas like eyebrows or underarms take about [10-15 minutes]. Larger services like legs or a full body wax take longer, about [45-90 minutes].
What type of wax do you use?
We use soft wax and hard wax both. It is made to be gentle on skin, and our team picks the best one for the area being treated.
Is redness normal after waxing?
Yes. Light redness or small bumps are normal and usually go away within a few hours to a day. If the redness gets worse or lasts, please contact us.
How can I stop ingrown hairs?
Gently exfoliate 2-3 times a week, starting about 2 days after your wax. Keep your skin moisturized and avoid tight clothes on waxed areas.
